Disclaimer

SYNAXIOM does not distribute NIVOMAX Viewer setup files directly to end users. To obtain the necessary setup files, users must download a copy directly from the Technical Publications Supplier's NIVOMAX Self Serve portal, subsequent to agreeing to the terms and conditions stipulated therein. The Technical Publication Supplier, possessing a valid Distribution ID for their copy of the NIVOMAX Applications, is the sole distributor. Access to and use of the NIVOMAX Viewer is contingent upon the purchase of a Data License for a digital product from the Technical Publications Supplier. The digital product downloaded will function exclusively with the viewer provided by the respective Supplier. Users are advised that the distribution of NIVOMAX Viewer setup files may be governed by applicable export control regulations depending on their region.

Licensing

It is not necessary for end-users to purchase a separate NIVOMAX license. The Technical Publications Supplier from whom you have acquired your Data License has already procured the requisite licenses from SYNAXIOM. By extending an invitation, they include you within their authorized user pool, as permitted under their NIVOMAX license agreement. Mandatory S1000D Library Update for Software Compliance for Release 2024-1

Last Updated on July 30, 2024 | 2 min read

We are excited to announce the upcoming release of the NIVOMAX Viewer v3.4.1+. To ensure full compliance with this new version, we require all S1000D Libraries to be republished. This communication outlines the necessary steps and considerations for this update.

Key Points to Note

  1. Mandatory Library Update: All S1000D Libraries must be republished to comply with NIVOMAX Viewer v3.4.1+.
  2. Changelog Entry: This update should be recorded in your changelog for software compliance purposes only. It is not an official DDN update with content changes.
  3. Avoid Concurrent Updates: Although it is possible to perform a DDN Update simultaneously, we highly recommend against it to streamline the process and avoid potential issues.

Background Information

NIVOMAX Builder performs a file comparison using a hashing algorithm to identify new or changed files from the current production data. Normally, only a DDN Update can create a new update package. However, in this special circumstance, the update involves changes to the Builder’s XML > HTML Processor and the Datamodule (DM) Metadata Generator component. These changes result in new HTML and Metadata files, which are flagged as changed by the hashing algorithm and included in the Library Update Archives.

Warning!

Only Run These Steps After the NIVOMAX Builder is upgraded to version:
Back-End

  • Version: 3.1.0
  • Release: 2024-07-11
  • Build: 202407110001

Software Compliance Update Procedure without DDN Update (RECOMMENDED)

YOU DO NOT NEED TO UPDATE THE DATA REPOSITORY WITH A DDN, THE EXISTING DATA IS USED FOR THIS PROCESS.

To complete the compliance update, please follow these steps:

  1. Convert XML to HTML
  2. Generate Aggregated Tables
  3. Generate IPD Tables
  4. Index Data
  5. Complete Processing Master Data
  6. Publish to WEB
  7. Create ZIP

Concurrent DDN Update Procedure, if opting to combine updates (NOT RECOMMENDED)

If you choose to perform a DDN Update alongside the mandatory library publishing for software compliance, please follow these steps:

  1. Update Existing Master Data – ATA-100/ S1000D
  2. Convert CGM to SVG
  3. Generate DM Metadata
  4. Convert XML to HTML
  5. Generate Aggregated Tables
  6. Generate IPD Tables
  7. Index Data
  8. Complete Processing Master Data
  9. Publish to WEB
  10. Create ZIP

Compliance Update Size Estimate

Based on our estimates, the compliance update ZIP file should not exceed 150MB if performed without a concurrent DDN Update.

We appreciate your cooperation and attention to these important updates. Ensuring compliance with NIVOMAX Viewer v3.4.1+ will help maintain the integrity and functionality of your systems.
