NIVOMAX Viewer – Release ID 2024-1

Disclaimer

SYNAXIOM does not distribute NIVOMAX Viewer setup files directly to end users. To obtain the necessary setup files, users must download a copy directly from the Technical Publications Supplier's NIVOMAX Self Serve portal, subsequent to agreeing to the terms and conditions stipulated therein. The Technical Publication Supplier, possessing a valid Distribution ID for their copy of the NIVOMAX Applications, is the sole distributor. Access to and use of the NIVOMAX Viewer is contingent upon the purchase of a Data License for a digital product from the Technical Publications Supplier. The digital product downloaded will function exclusively with the viewer provided by the respective Supplier. Users are advised that the distribution of NIVOMAX Viewer setup files may be governed by applicable export control regulations depending on their region.

Licensing

It is not necessary for end-users to purchase a separate NIVOMAX license. The Technical Publications Supplier from whom you have acquired your Data License has already procured the requisite licenses from SYNAXIOM. By extending an invitation, they include you within their authorized user pool, as permitted under their NIVOMAX license agreement. You are authorized to use the NIVOMAX software provided the Technical Publications Supplier maintains a valid NIVOMAX software license.

Patched Version: 3.4.2

  1. Update Summary: The baseline application version 3.4.1 has been updated to version 3.4.2 to address a major bug identified in the previous release. This patch ensures enhanced stability and performance of the NIVOMAX Viewer.
  2. Bugs Addressed in Version 3.4.2:
    • BUG-2024-012-FUNC: Fixed an issue causing automatic redirection to the library list. For detailed information, please refer to the bug report.

Global Updates

These are updates affecting all NIVOMAX Viewer Editions.

  1. Intelligent Graphics Viewer [NMX-V-330-1]
    Resolved an issue where the rotation feature did not adhere to 90-degree increments, and the zoom functionality restored the graphic to its original orientation. This fix ensures precise rotation increments and maintains the desired orientation during zoom adjustments, enhancing the overall user experience.
  2. Link Resolving Error [NMX-V-330-2]
    Corrected the behavior with links between manuals within the library not resolving correctly. This fix ensures that all links now direct to the correct documents, improving navigation and accuracy. Additionally, in cases where linking between libraries is available, this functionality has also been improved to ensure accurate direction to the appropriate documents.
  3. Over-Length Part Numbers (S1000D IPDP Publications) [NMX-V-330-3]
    Fixed an issue where over-length part numbers were not displaying in the Illustrated Parts Data Publication (IPDP) tables. This resolution ensures that the required information is now displayed correctly, improving data visibility and accuracy.
  4. Printing S1000D Data Modules [NMX-V-330-4]
    Improved the print output for S1000D Data Modules where missing data and poorly formatted content have been drastically reduced. Note that NIVOMAX is not designed as a CSDB publishing software for generating S1000D Page-oriented publications from XML source data. We have styled the HTML documents to closely resemble the output specifications mandated by the S1000D Standard. However, due to the complexities in the content being presented, browsers might not always render the expected styling accurately, potentially resulting in outputs that do not strictly conform to the S1000D guidelines.
  5. Fix for Incorrect Window Title [NMX-V-330-6]
    The window title for links opening in a new window has been corrected to reflect the appropriate titles, ensuring clarity and a seamless user experience.

    Introduced the File Attachment capabilities with JobSync feature to automatically sync Personal File Attachments across all devices and app editions.
  • Update to the Installer [NMX-V-330-7]
    The NIVOMAX Viewer application v3.4.1+ installer has been updated to automatically uninstall the previous version (v3.1.0) before installing the latest version, ensuring a clean upgrade process and proper restoration of previous settings, including Data Store Location.

Network Edition – Data Server

  • Update to the Installer [NMX-V-330-7]
    The NIVOMAX Viewer application v3.4.1+ installer has been updated to automatically uninstall the previous version (v3.1.0) before installing the latest version, ensuring a clean upgrade process and proper restoration of previous settings, including Data Store Location and Data Server Host and Port.
