Understanding Data Libraries

Data libraries consist of collections of manuals and publications that have been organized by publishers into libraries based on purpose, product models and even unique to specific product sequence number (PSN). An aircraft model or unique product may have multiple libraries associated with it, with each library being available for subscription as a licensed digital product. Users with valid license, can access these libraries online using the NIVOMAX Web Viewer and through the Desktop or Network Edition applications.

Learn more about how licenses are consumed and access is granted to libraries as digital products within NIVOMAX.

Generally publishers will categorize the set of manuals that belong to an Aircraft Model and then include PSN specific manuals in an accompanying library. For instanace as an example an ePubs Supplier may organize the set of manuals for an aircraft model and PSN in the following manner:

Operational Manuals

  • Flight Manuals (Pilot’s Operating Handbooks, Aircraft Flight Manuals): Contain essential information for the safe and efficient operation of the aircraft, including performance data, operating limitations, and emergency procedures.
  • Crew Operations Manuals: Cover crew duties, standard operating procedures, and other operational tasks necessary for flight safety.
  • Quick Reference Handbook (QRH): Provides quick access to essential information needed in emergencies or abnormal flight situations.

Maintenance Manuals

  • Aircraft Maintenance Manuals (AMM): Offer detailed procedures for maintaining and repairing various aircraft systems and components, including troubleshooting and servicing guidelines.
  • Component Maintenance Manuals (CMM): Focus on specific components or systems (like engines, landing gear), detailing maintenance procedures from disassembly to reassembly.
  • Maintenance Training Manuals: Serve as instructional material for maintenance personnel, encompassing detailed procedures and guidelines for aircraft upkeep.

Structural and Technical Manuals

  • Structural Repair Manuals (SRM): Provide instructions for repairing structural damage, ensuring the aircraft’s structural integrity and airworthiness.
  • Wiring Diagram Manuals (WDM): Include comprehensive schematics and diagrams essential for maintaining and troubleshooting aircraft electrical systems.

Parts and Inventory Manuals

  • Illustrated Parts Catalog (IPC): Feature detailed diagrams and part numbers for all aircraft components, crucial for maintenance and parts replacement.

Completion and Customization Manuals

  • Completion Manuals: Detail the final assembly stages, focusing on the customization of the aircraft according to customer specifications and compliance with regulatory standards. These Manuals are unique to a product sequence number therefore applying to a specific physical aircraft.

Training and Reference Manuals

  • Training Manuals: Used for educational purposes, these manuals support the training of pilots, crew, and maintenance staff, ensuring they are well-prepared for their roles with respect to aircraft operation and safety.

Specialized Manuals

  • Fault Isolation Manuals (FIM): Utilized for diagnosing and isolating issues within the aircraft systems, these manuals are critical for troubleshooting and repairs.
