The NIVOMAX Platform Update Process: From Core Application to Customer Distributions

SYNAXIOM does not distribute NIVOMAX Viewer setup files directly to end users. To obtain the necessary setup files, users must download a copy directly from the Technical Publications Supplier's NIVOMAX Self Serve portal, subsequent to agreeing to the terms and conditions stipulated therein. The Technical Publication Supplier, possessing a valid Distribution ID for their copy of the NIVOMAX Applications, is the sole distributor. Access to and use of the NIVOMAX Viewer is contingent upon the purchase of a Data License for a digital product from the Technical Publications Supplier. The digital product downloaded will function exclusively with the viewer provided by the respective Supplier. Users are advised that the distribution of NIVOMAX Viewer setup files may be governed by applicable export control regulations depending on their region.

Licensing

It is not necessary for end-users to purchase a separate NIVOMAX license. The Technical Publications Supplier from whom you have acquired your Data License has already procured the requisite licenses from SYNAXIOM. By extending an invitation, they include you within their authorized user pool, as permitted under their NIVOMAX license agreement. You are authorized to use the NIVOMAX software provided the Technical Publications Supplier maintains a valid NIVOMAX software license.

Understanding the NIVOMAX Platform

The NIVOMAX Platform is a complete, highly customizable software system licensed by SYNAXIOM to our customers (ePubs Suppliers). These ePubs suppliers provide access to their end users by granting access to the NIVOMAX Viewers. The NIVOMAX Viewers are available in Network, Web, Desktop, and Mobile Editions. Since the core software system is designed as a framework that is highly customizable, each customer receives a uniquely adapted copy we refer to as a “distribution” with a specific ID, which includes data processing and encryption capabilities designed for that specific context.

Core Application Development

The NIVOMAX core is the base and foundational framework upon which all customer distributions are built. Our team is continuously engaged in developing and enhancing the NIVOMAX core, which generally includes security patches, bug fixes, feature enhancements, and performance improvements that would benefit all customers.

Upgrading Customer Distributions

Once the NIVOMAX core upgrade receives approval for release, we begin updating customer distributions while prioritizing our Prime Partners first. These customers will receive direct communication via email about the pending upgrade. This communication will include detailed information on the expected changes and how they may affect their distribution. We then work closely with our customers to help with change management during this time, assisting in a smooth transition for all end users. This collaboration helps provide a seamless upgrade experience for end-users.

Release to Customers (ePub Suppliers)

As the upgraded distributions are ready for release, we will share the upgrade files and documentation using a secure file-sharing service.

Once notified of the upgrade’s release, customers can begin planning deployment activities within their installations while waiting to receive the upgrade files. Our support team is always on hand to assist with any questions or issues that may arise during the deployment process.

Ongoing Support and Future Updates

As our customers install the upgrade, we continue to monitor and support each customer based on the terms of the Service Level Agreements (SLA) they have with SYNAXIOM. We also continuously collect customer feedback to prioritize future enhancements to the NIVOMAX Platform. This continuous improvement cycle ensures that the NIVOMAX Platform remains an effective system that evolves with our customers’ needs.
