Updating the NIVOMAX Viewer Software

Disclaimer

SYNAXIOM does not distribute NIVOMAX Viewer setup files directly to end users. To obtain the necessary setup files, users must download a copy directly from the Technical Publications Supplier's NIVOMAX Self Serve portal, subsequent to agreeing to the terms and conditions stipulated therein. The Technical Publication Supplier, possessing a valid Distribution ID for their copy of the NIVOMAX Applications, is the sole distributor. Access to and use of the NIVOMAX Viewer is contingent upon the purchase of a Data License for a digital product from the Technical Publications Supplier. The digital product downloaded will function exclusively with the viewer provided by the respective Supplier. Users are advised that the distribution of NIVOMAX Viewer setup files may be governed by applicable export control regulations depending on their region.

Licensing

It is not necessary for end-users to purchase a separate NIVOMAX license. The Technical Publications Supplier from whom you have acquired your Data License has already procured the requisite licenses from SYNAXIOM. By extending an invitation, they include you within their authorized user pool, as permitted under their NIVOMAX license agreement. You are authorized to use the NIVOMAX software provided the Technical Publications Supplier maintains a valid NIVOMAX software license.

Keeping Your Software Current

Staying up-to-date with the latest versions of NIVOMAX Viewer Desktop and Network Editions is crucial for maintaining optimal functionality and accessing new features. This guide will help you understand how to check for and install updates directly from within your software or via the NIVOMAX Self-Serve Portal.

How to Identify Available Updates

Look for the System Update Available icon located in the main toolbar of your application. When an update is available, this icon will turn green, indicating that a newer version of the NIVOMAX Viewer you have installed is ready for download.

Steps to Update Your Software:

  1. Check for Updates: The green System Update Available icon serves as a notification that there is an update pending. Clicking this icon will direct you to the Software Update Interface.
  2. Downloading the Update: In the Software Update Interface, you will see details about the new version including the Viewer Edition details, version number, and release date.Click the GET button to start the download. During the download, the GET button will change to a progress icon, showing the download status.

    Warning

    Ensure that the NIVOMAX Viewer application remains open during the download. A warning message, DO NOT EXIT, will be displayed in the progress banner as a reminder not to close the application while the update is downloading in the background.

  3. Monitor the Progress: After initiating the download, you can continue using the application. A movable notification banner will appear on your screen, showing the progress of the download. This banner can be repositioned for convenience and will disappear once the download is complete.
  4. Locate the Download: The downloaded setup file will be stored in the “nivomax-software” folder within your designated NIVOMAX Data Store folder chosen during installation. This setup ensures that all downloads, including data libraries and software updates, are centrally stored within your computer.
  5. InstallationOnce the download is finished, proceed to install the latest version of the NIVOMAX Viewer by running the downloaded setup file. Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the installation.Ensure the NIVOMAX Viewer application is closed before initiating the setup file to prevent the need for a system restart after installation.

Updating the NIVOMAX Network Edition – Data Server

The process for updating the NIVOMAX Data Server follows the same steps. Be sure to keep the Data Server application running until the update is fully downloaded and ready for installation.
