Software Update Interface

Disclaimer

SYNAXIOM does not distribute NIVOMAX Viewer setup files directly to end users. To obtain the necessary setup files, users must download a copy directly from the Technical Publications Supplier's NIVOMAX Self Serve portal, subsequent to agreeing to the terms and conditions stipulated therein. The Technical Publication Supplier, possessing a valid Distribution ID for their copy of the NIVOMAX Applications, is the sole distributor. Access to and use of the NIVOMAX Viewer is contingent upon the purchase of a Data License for a digital product from the Technical Publications Supplier. The digital product downloaded will function exclusively with the viewer provided by the respective Supplier. Users are advised that the distribution of NIVOMAX Viewer setup files may be governed by applicable export control regulations depending on their region.

Licensing

It is not necessary for end-users to purchase a separate NIVOMAX license. The Technical Publications Supplier from whom you have acquired your Data License has already procured the requisite licenses from SYNAXIOM. By extending an invitation, they include you within their authorized user pool, as permitted under their NIVOMAX license agreement. You are authorized to use the NIVOMAX software provided the Technical Publications Supplier maintains a valid NIVOMAX software license.

Software Update Interface

Note: The screen captures on this page are intended to show the regions and the location of various parts of the interface. The icons and elements may be different in your distribution and version of the software.

This section describes the NIVOMAX Viewer Software Update interface, available on the Data Server and the NIVOMAX Viewer Desktop Edition. For Library Downloads and Updates, refer to the Download Manager Interface.

This interface appears when a new version of the NIVOMAX Viewer is available, providing a straightforward method to download and install the latest updates, ensuring access to new features and enhancements.

When a Software Update is Available

NIVOMAX Software Updates Available

Note: When updating from version 3.1.0 to 3.4.1 or 3.4.2, users will see the software update interface that was present in version 3.1.0, and not the descriptions shown in the figure above.

How to Use

  1. Update Available:
    • The System Update Available icon in the Main Toolbar turns green.
  2. Initiate Download:
    • Click the GET button to start downloading the installation file for the newest version.
  3. More Information:

NIVOMAX Viewer Desktop Edition

  1. Up-to-Date:
    • A message appears stating the software is the latest version and shows the edition in use.
  2. Update Available:
    • The System Update Available icon in the Main Toolbar turns green.
    • The new software version details, including the release date and a short description, are displayed for download.

NIVOMAX Viewer Network Edition (Data Server and Client Viewer Apps)

  1. Up-to-Date:
    • A message appears stating the software is the latest version and shows the edition in use.
  2. Update Available:
    • The “System Update Available” icon turns green.
    • The new software version details, including the release date and a short description, are displayed for download.
  3. Client Viewer Download Link:
    • The client viewer download link is always available on the Data Server.
  4. Data Server and Client Viewer Update:
    • When the Network Edition has a new version, both download links (Data Server and Client Viewer) are shown on the Data Server. Software Download Interface is omitted in the Client Viewer.

Download Progress and Notification

After starting the download, users can leave the updates interface and continue using the application. A notification banner appears, showing the download progress. The banner can be moved on the screen and disappears when the download is complete. Once the download is complete, users can install the latest version.

WARNING!

Do not exit the NIVOMAX Viewer application while the update is downloading.

The notification banner will state:

“DO NOT EXIT: NIVOMAX Viewer Desktop Edition v.3.4.1 update is being downloaded in the background | 41%”

Available in the Following Editions

  • NIVOMAX Viewer Desktop Edition
  • NIVOMAX Viewer Network (LAN) Edition on both the Data Server and the Network Client Viewer.
