Disclaimer

SYNAXIOM does not distribute NIVOMAX Viewer setup files directly to end users. To obtain the necessary setup files, users must download a copy directly from the Technical Publications Supplier's NIVOMAX Self Serve portal, subsequent to agreeing to the terms and conditions stipulated therein. The Technical Publication Supplier, possessing a valid Distribution ID for their copy of the NIVOMAX Applications, is the sole distributor. Access to and use of the NIVOMAX Viewer is contingent upon the purchase of a Data License for a digital product from the Technical Publications Supplier. The digital product downloaded will function exclusively with the viewer provided by the respective Supplier. Users are advised that the distribution of NIVOMAX Viewer setup files may be governed by applicable export control regulations depending on their region.

Licensing

It is not necessary for end-users to purchase a separate NIVOMAX license. The Technical Publications Supplier from whom you have acquired your Data License has already procured the requisite licenses from SYNAXIOM. By extending an invitation, they include you within their authorized user pool, as permitted under their NIVOMAX license agreement. You are authorized to use the NIVOMAX software provided the Technical Publications Supplier maintains a valid NIVOMAX software license.

Overview

The NIVOMAX Self-Serve Portal (SSP) is a web application designed to simplify the management of user teams and data license, their assignments to registered users and subscriptions. The SSP is integrated with three NIVOMAX Components extending its capabilities in to these fields.

System Dashboard

The System Dashboard serves as the central overview page within the NIVOMAX Self-Serve Portal. It features a set of quick links for easy navigation, useful widgets for at-a-glance information, and an activity report that summarizes recent actions and interactions. This dashboard is designed to provide users with immediate access to important features and real-time insights into system activities.

NIVOMAX Identity Manager

A component that facilitates the management of user identities, enabling administrators to efficiently handle user registrations and profile settings within the SSP.

NIVOMAX Download Center

Manages the distribution and downloading of software and digital content, ensuring users have access to the latest versions of applications and data libraries.

NIVOMAX Authorization Manager

Controls access and permissions within the SSP, ensuring that users have appropriate rights to resources based on their roles and responsibilities.

SSP Reporting Engine

The SSP Reporting Engine is a vital component within the NIVOMAX Self-Serve Portal designed to generate custom, pre-configured reports for administrators. It provides essential data analytics and insights, feeding real-time information to dashboard widgets.

User Roles

  • Data License Administrator: Manages team creation, assigns access to technical publications, and handles license tracking and renewal.
  • Registered User: Downloads and updates library data on the Windows Desktop Edition application and has access to the Web Edition application for received data licenses.
  • Data Server Administrator: Manages the NIVOMAX Network Viewer – Data Server application, ensuring libraries are up-to-date and licenses are sufficient for concurrent access.
  • Network Client User: Accesses publications using the NIVOMAX Network Edition – Client Viewer application over a local network without SSO credentials.
  • ePubs Sales Agent: Promotes and sells digital products, ensuring customers receive appropriate data licenses and access to required publications.
  • ePubs Supplier Administrator: Assists customers in managing subscriptions and Data License-related issues within the Self-Serve Portal.

Unauthorized Error

NIVOMAX primarily uses Single Sign-On (SSO) authentication, provided by the ePubs Supplier, to verify users’ identities. However, to gain authorization to access the platform, users must be registered within the NIVOMAX Identity Manager. Registration occurs through one of two invitations: a Data License Administrator Invitation from your ePubs Supplier or a Registered User Invitation from a Data License Administrator.

If users who have SSO credentials but do not have an account set up in NIVOMAX try to access the NIVOMAX Self-Serve Portal, they will encounter an “unauthorized access” error similar to below. This error message is customizable; therefore, the specific wording might vary depending on the ePubs Supplier’s settings but will generally indicate that you do not have authorization to access the portal.

You do not have authorization to access the NIVOMAX Platform. Please contact us to set up your account and gain access.

Other Common Login Errors

The SSO login process redirects users to a third-party site to authenticate. This step is taken for enhanced security and user convenience. Any errors that occur on the third-party site must be addressed by the SSO Identity Provider. A useful way to determine if the error originates from the NIVOMAX Self-Serve Portal or the Identity Provider is by checking the URL; typically, the domain of the IdP will differ from that of the NIVOMAX Self-Serve Portal.

For detailed information regarding the NIVOMAX Self-Serve Portal URL and other SSO-related details, please refer to the Information Sheet provided by your ePubs Supplier.

For the latest documentation on this and other important topics, please refer to the NIVOMAX Help Center. The NIVOMAX Help Center is your primary resource for up-to-date information, guidelines, and self-serve support for NIVOMAX.
