NIVOMAX New User Corner

If you are new to NIVOMAX, you are in the right place.

This page is designed to help you quickly understand how NIVOMAX works and where to begin, even if you have no prior experience.

NIVOMAX is accessed through a web browser. You sign in through your organization and use the NIVOMAX Viewer to view and work with content. Some organizations also provide installable versions of the Viewer for desktop or mobile use, depending on their workflow.

Quick Start Checklist

Identify Your OEM or Content Supplier

You must identify your OEM or Content Supplier. Each OEM or Content Supplier:

  • Uses its own SSP (Self-Serve Portal)
  • Provides access to applications and data
  • Manages SSO accounts and licenses

If you are not sure who your OEM or Content Supplier is, contact your organization’s administrator.

1. Sign-in Access

  • A login account provided by your OEM or Content Supplier
  • An invitation to join NIVOMAX

Once you can sign in, you can access NIVOMAX online.

2. Data License Assignment

  • An active subscription through an OEM or Content Supplier
  • A data license assigned to you by a Data License Administrator (DLA)

After your license is assigned, you can access data in the browser.

3. Installed Viewer Applications (optional)

If you need local or offline access, you may need to install a Viewer application.

  • macOS, iOS, and iPadOS Viewer apps are provided through your OEM or Content Supplier’s app store
  • Windows Viewer applications are downloaded from your OEM or Content Supplier’s instance of the NIVOMAX Self Serve Portal

NIVOMAX Viewer applications are not distributed directly by NIVOMAX.

Installed Viewer applications require data license activation before use.

Getting started

What is NIVOMAX?

NIVOMAX is an aviation technical publications platform. OEMs, operators, and maintenance organizations use it to access aircraft manuals and technical documents, online or offline.

What do I need to start using NIVOMAX?
  • A sign-in account and invitation from your organization
  • A data license assigned by your Data License Administrator (DLA)

When both are complete, you can access licensed data.

Access & SSO

How do I access NIVOMAX?

You sign in through your OEM or Content Supplier’s SSO.

Once a valid data license is assigned, use the NIVOMAX Viewer.

Viewer (web vs installed)

What is the NIVOMAX Viewer?

The NIVOMAX Viewer is the tool used to view and work with IETP or IETM content. It can be accessed:

  • In a web browser, or
  • Through an installed Viewer application
Do I need to install software to use the NIVOMAX Viewer?
  • Web access requires no installation
  • Installed Viewers may be provided by your OEM or Content Supplier

How do new NIVOMAX users download the NIVOMAX Viewer apps?

NIVOMAX does not distribute applications directly.

  • macOS / iOS / iPadOS: via OEM or Content Supplier app store
  • Windows: via the NIVOMAX Self Serve Portal (SSP)

Licenses & DLA

Who manages my data licenses?

Your organization receives subscriptions and data entitlements from an OEM or Content Supplier.

A Data License Administrator (DLA) within your organization assigns data licenses and manages access.

I don’t know who my Data License Administrator (DLA) is

Sign in to the Self Serve Portal provided by your OEM or Content Supplier.

On the dashboard, use the Data License Administrators widget to identify and contact the DLA assigned to your team.

Troubleshooting & support

I can sign in but see no data
  • License not assigned
  • License not activated in an installed Viewer
