Filtering Content by PSN and SB Status

Last Updated on January 24, 2025 | 3 min read

NIVOMAX Viewers offer a feature that enables users to customize the visibility of technical data by applying filters based on Product Sequence Numbers (PSN) and Service Bulletin (SB) statuses. This functionality ensures users access only the most relevant information, tailored to specific hardware configurations and maintenance updates for various aircraft..

Functionality

This feature is used in scenarios where aircraft configurations differ due to varying components or updates denoted by service bulletins. Users can input a single PSN or a range of PSNs, combined with an SB status marked as ‘PRE’ (before) or ‘POST’ (after), to refine the dataset according to operational needs and aircraft status.

Step-by-Step Guide

Accessing the Applicability Filter and Setting the PSN

  1. Click the Applicability Filter icon in the Tab Toolbar to activate the Applicability Filtering Tool in the Right Slider Feature Panel.

If this icon is not present, the feature is not available for the current publication.

  2. Enter the Product Sequence Number in the designated field adjacent to the library name labeled “Enter Product Sequence Numbers (PSNs) *“.
  3. Click APPLY to set the PSN.
  4. The system will update to apply redactions to the Table of Contents and documents matching your specified criteria.

Accepted Formats for PSN Input

  • Single PSN: Input one PSN.
  • Sequential list: Enter a range, e.g., 10002-10006.
  • Non-sequential list: Input multiple PSNs separated by commas, e.g., 10002, 10005, 10008.
  • Mixed sequence: Combine ranges and single PSNs, e.g., 10002-10006, 10008.

Selecting SB Status

Choose ‘PRE’ or ‘POST’ to filter documents based on the service bulletin status.

  1. Click the Configure Service Bulletins icon in the Tab Toolbar to open the Service Bulletin Configuration Tool in the Right Slider Feature Panel.

If this icon is not visible, the feature is not available for the current publication.

  2. Enter the PSN in the designated input field and click “LIST SB” to load the applicable Service Bulletins for the entered PSN.
  3. Switch the SB status from PRE (default) to POST as required. In the Desktop and Network Client Viewer app, the use the toggle switch. In the Mobile Edition, this is a checkbox with the following labels:
    1. SB State: POST (Uncheck for PRE)
    2. SB State: PRE (Check for POST)
  4. Click ‘APPLY’ to finalize the SB status setting.
  5. The system will update to apply redactions to the Table of Contents and documents that meet your specified criteria.

Clearing Applied Filters

  1. Click either the Applicability Filter icon, or the Configure Service Bulletins icon in the Tab Toolbar to reopen the relevant tool in the Right Slider Feature Panel.
  2. Click CLEAR.
  3. The system will refresh and revert the content to its unfiltered state.

Reviewing Filtered Content

Navigate through the publication to see content redacted based on your filters. Entire data modules affected by the filters will be greyed out in the table of contents, restricting access.

Tips for Effective Use

Regularly update your filters with newly issued Service Bulletins to ensure you access the most current and relevant data.
