What are Intelligent Graphics?

Intelligent Graphics enhance digital graphics with interactive functionalities. Commonly used in technical sectors like aviation, these graphics enable users to interact efficiently with complex diagrams and schematics. This interaction fosters a deeper understanding and better management of detailed information.

NIVOMAX Intelligent Graphics Tools

The NIVOMAX Intelligent Graphics Tool includes a Processor that converts Computer Graphics Metafile (CGM) into Scalable Vector Graphics (SVG), and a Viewer that presents these graphics within the NIVOMAX Viewer applications. This transformation preserves all original metadata and interactive features, updating outdated Java applets to a modern, browser-compatible format.

Graphics Toolbar Controls

The Intelligent Graphics Toolbar appears in the Tab Toolbar area when viewing an intelligent graphic or wiring diagram, offering controls for:

  • Wire Tracing and Hotspot Highlighting: Engage with specific graphic components.
    • Use the Hotspots icon to display a list of interactable hotspots.
    • Hover the graphic or click a hotspot from the list to activate detailed views and highlighting options.
  • Tooltip and Linking: Provides detailed information and reference links within the graphic interaction context.
    • Click on a hotspot on the graphic to open a pop-up window. The pop-up shows metadata and links to other graphics or sheets, if available.
    • Click on the  Activate icon to highlight the hotspot. The highlight will stay active. This is useful for tracing or quick reference.
  • When a graphic or wiring diagram is open and the Hotspot icon is green, this indicates the presence of hotspots within the document.

Graphic Interactivity Features

NIVOMAX Viewers enhance graphic interaction with features including:

  • Interactive Illustrated Parts Data Publications (IPDP): Facilitates detailed parts identification and interaction.
  • Vector Annotations: Allows markup and review of technical drawings.
  • Search Capability: Enables searching within graphics for specific components or information.
  • Wire Tracing and Highlighting: Assists in identifying and tracing wiring within schematics.
  • References and Linking: Supports navigation between sheets or to related documents.
  • Tooltips: Displays additional information when interacting with certain graphic elements.

Graphics in S1000D Data

In S1000D documentation:

  • Graphics can be configured to display inline or as icons, depending on user preferences.
  • Linked ICN numbers or figure references in the document provide options to:
    • Open Graphic in a new tab (Right) – with graphic interactivity.
    • Open Graphic in a new Window, for detailed examination without graphic interactivity.

Utilizing NIVOMAX’s intelligent graphics tools significantly enhances the ability of users to interact with and understand complex technical data, streamlining workflows and boosting productivity.
